Anthony O’Connor, Executive Chef

A graduate of the French Culinary Institute, Chef O’Connor was the Executive Chef at Sodexho Food Services for 10 years, managing executive dining rooms for Fortune 500 companies. “I enjoy teaching and mentoring my students the most,” says Anthony O’Connor, Executive Chef and Culinary Arts Instructor.

Jamel Woods, Sous Chef

“I didn’t want to be another statistic,” Jamel says. Following five years of prison, Jamel turned his life around through our Culinary Arts Training Program. After intensive instruction in the kitchen and an internship, he landed a job at City Beet Kitchens, where he is now Sous Chef. “This job keeps me focused and off the streets.”

“One of my best experiences at Project Renewal has been learning how to be focused on doing the right thing. This program has helped a lot of people and I am proud to be where I am at right now,” says Luis Roman, head cook at our Third Street kitchen.
